Camera Obscura: Latin for "dark chamber"

Visible Spectrum: the portion of the electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye

Electromagnetic spectrum: the range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation

Image Sensor: device that converts an optical image to an electric signal

Aperture: hole or an opening through which light travels

Shutter: a mechanical device of a camera that controls the duration of a photographic exposed to light

Exposure: the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic

Depth of Field: is the zone of sharpness both in front and behind the main subject. When you focus on your subject, you can choose to blur the background and foreground or have everything in sharp focus

F-stop: controls the amount of light going into the camera.Shutter Speeds control how fast the light goes in

Focal length: indicates the magnification and angle-of-view of a lens

Pinhole Photgraphy

I chose this photo because anybody can take a picture of a pretty flower but only those who really can capture the beauty of the flower in the photograph. I think this picture has great colors and a great angle. The somewhat shaded sky an the grass brings out the flower's colors. I believe the focus on this photo is sharp. This was one of the first photos I saw and I instantly loved this photo. :) 

 I really like this photo because its the classic black and white, who doesn't like black and white photos? This is a great photo because it has an amazing background, gate, and fountain. The angle of this photo is amazing you see this gate from where nobody hardly see when they're passing through. This photo has everything it has good quality, great angle, perfect colors, a soft focus, and it is just a picture perfect photo. 

I am not a big fan of this photo because any person can take a self portrait. This picture seems like somebody needed a new profile picture for facebook and stood in front of the camera "click" there is a photo. This photo has a soft focus. The man in this photo, it has a little bit of a blur but not so much to where you can't really see whats in the photo.

My first photos :)

This was my first day in this class and my photos aren't that great but if I had to choose a photo I chose this photo. This is a good photo because I captured her facial expression and her pose. Her shirt brings out the picture, it goes along with the book shelf. The shelf is a little bit darker than her shirt but both colors together brings out the best in the photo.

This is one of the bad pictures I took that day. I don't believe this is a good picture because I think sometimes photography is where you capture the little moments not the posed pictures. This picture is a posed picture because of her smile, the way she stands, and her arms.

I believe this is a great photo because of the angle it isn't a straight forward picture, it angles to see his hands into his pockets. This picture has vibrant colors his shirt and the shelf pop out of the picture. He seems as if he is very laid back and he doesn't care about whats going on around him but I think he is shy standing in front of the classroom.

I think this picture isn't as good as it should be, if it was zoomed out more then you could see more of the person. The good thing about this picture is the photographer captured this person's smile. Overall this is an average photo.
